Wow a week since I last posted. Naughty blogger me. Time seems to fly at the moment. Still enjoying the glorious sunshine here in Yorkshire. Long may it reign. It's been lovely eating all our evening meals in the garden then lounging around chatting at the table afterwards. Same shall be happening this evening : )
Yorkshire Water have been in our street since yesterday. They are doing 'essential water improvement work' in our village and it is causing a lot of disruption. We received a letter telling us the work will last for 4 months! They informed us traffic lights may be used on streets and they will try to keep disruption to a minimum, yeah! Thankfully our road its the fist being worked on. We are without water today and tomorrow and will need to boil all water to be consumed for 48 hours after work has finished. It's amazing how many times I have gone to turn the tap on today or gone to flush a toilet. It's taken for granted it's always there and I've noticed today how much we turn taps on or flush loos without thinking. We have buckets of water beside the toilets and kettles and bowels full of water to use until they turn it back on at 7.00pm. Must remember to boil lots of water for tomorrows use before I go to work tonight as the water goes back off at 8.45am tomorrow. I planted some seeds this afternoon and took the watering can to the garden tap to water them. Silly me, shall have to remember to water them this evening when the waters turned back on.
Your menu sounds yummy-I think I've found some inspiration for dinner this week!
ReplyDeleteyour menu sounds lovely. In our neck of the woods there is a hose pipe ban, I think I would keep forgetting & popping the taps on. I hope it gets sorted out quick for you especially in this hot weather
ReplyDeleteTake care x
Your menu sounds really nice.
ReplyDeleteWe do take water coming out of the taps for granted don't we, it'll be bliss when it's back on full time.
Your little fruit and veg face piccy is brilliant.
I'm loving this weather, I hope it continues for a while longer. I think we do take water for granted, it certainly makes us think when it's not 'on tap'.
ReplyDeleteLovely menu plan Karen :)
ReplyDeleteIt's my first visit to your blog and I'm now following. Hope to pick up some thrifty tips and menu inspiration along the way :-)

I do tend to go awol from my blog occasionally. I think things in life from feeling a bit pissed of,feeling flat or fed up I dont tend to blog!. As well as the DD situation. I do hope you keep your blog even though you may question keeping it. I go through stages & think oh my life is so boring and it feels like I dont do much exciting stuff (hope that makes sense!). Hope you stay as I love your blog so much to x x x
